Our goal at Quiet Heart is to get as many children out in the woods and connecting with nature as possible. Unfortunately, the costs of our programs can sometimes be a barrier for families who would like to access wilderness education. We would like to help families that typically could not afford camps to be able to come and be in the woods with us.
This year, Quiet Heart Wilderness School is proud to be partnering with the Edmonds School District Family Support Program to provide summer camp opportunities for families who utilize their services. Family and Student Support Advocates work with families most in need when dealing with housing, medical, mental health, or other crises. Advocates work with families in 14 schools, but serve all 34 schools and programs in a variety of ways. Student and Family Support Advocates will offer the scholarships to the families they currently serve. There will be at least 14 scholarships for one week of camp provided.
Quiet Heart will be providing at minimum 7 scholarships. We are asking for support from our larger Quiet Heart Community to fund the scholarship program. If the community donates more than the 7 additional scholarships to reach our goal of 14, we will offer as many as we can!
