Leading a group in the outdoors is always filled with unforeseen challenges – and sometimes the greatest challenges are emotional and interpersonal! Frustration and conflict can stop a trip in its tracks, creating division that seems insurmountable and breeding dread that the whole trip is ruined. This workshop will help to get your group moving forward and feeling connected! Instructor Jenna Mallon will cover basic theories and hard skills for conflict resolution, framed within the context of outdoor leadership and wilderness settings, rooted in her first hand experiences as a wilderness therapy group leader. Participants will gain introductory skills in establishing a healthy group culture, de-escalating people who are panicked or angry, and facilitating relational connection and repair after harm has been done. The workshop is best suited to educators, guides, and leaders of groups of adolescents or adults.

This workshop will be held virtually via Zoom.  Once registration is completed, participants will receive a zoom link for participation.  At the conclusion of the workshop, participants will receive a link to watch a recording of the workshop.
