Change the way you look at the work around you and begin your Survival Skills and Naturalist Journey at Survival Sundays!

In this program for adults only, you will learn the core principles of Naturalism: Wildlife tracking, Edible & Medicinal Plants/Mushrooms, Survival Skills, Bird language, and Ethnobotany. We will meet once a month and focus on one of these skills areas.
What you’ll learn:
  • Animal sign identification and basic trailing principles
  • Edible plant identification
  • Fire building
  • Basic carving techniques
  • How to make tools from natural materials
  • Survival skills such as survival shelters, and water purification
  • Self-reliance
  • Confidence in the outdoors
(Specific skills will vary based on the season and pace of the group.)

Challenge yourself to build a fire with only natural materials (including wet wood), name those LBBs (little brown birds), find a forest-grown snack, or identify those mysterious tracks you see on the trail!

This course will give you a great foundation for beginning your journey as a naturalist. You will gain an awareness and an appreciation for the natural world that you didn’t know was possible.
